Graduates
The Graduate programmes can be a very good gateway to a career at CERN and can be compared with a Norwegian trainee-program. The program is open for engineers and people with a Master of Science or doctoral degree. If you are included in the program, you will normally be awarded a contract with a duration of one year with the possibility of a one-year extension. Most are given the opportunity to extend the contract to two, possibly three years.
The program has some requirements. For ORIGIN, you will need to have completed an engineering education (bachelor) or a master’s degree within a technical subject. The applicant can have a maximum of 2 years with experience after completed studies. The next level, QUEST is for candidates with 2-6 years of working experience. For Research fellows, the requirement is a doctoral degree.
